Product Introduction
This grade was developed to overcome the "sensitization" or "weld decay" issue common in standard 304 stainless steel. By adding Titanium (Ti) at a minimum of 5 times the carbon content, the titanium preferentially combines with carbon to form stable titanium carbides. This prevents chromium depletion at grain boundaries, thereby preserving the alloy's corrosion resistance even after prolonged high-temperature service or welding. It is the industry-preferred material for applications involving intermittent heating, welding, and exposure to moderately aggressive environments up to about 900°C.
