Product Introduction
317L Stainless Steel Plate is a low-carbon, molybdenum-bearing austenitic stainless steel designed to provide superior resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in more aggressive environments than 316L can reliably handle. The key difference is its significantly higher molybdenum content (3.0-4.0% vs. 2.0-3.0% in 316L) and increased chromium and nickel.
This alloy is the premier choice for handling hot organic and inorganic acids, sulfurous acid, and a wide range of chemical process streams, particularly those containing chlorides. Its "L" grade low-carbon chemistry ensures excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion following welding or stress-relieving, making it ideal for heavy-gauge welded fabrications in the chemical processing, pulp & paper, and flue gas desulfurization industries.
