Product Introduction
439 Stainless Steel Plate is a titanium-stabilized ferritic stainless steel, representing an enhanced and modernized version of the classic Type 430. It features significantly lower carbon and nitrogen content alongside the deliberate addition of stabilizing elements (primarily Titanium) to overcome the limitations of standard ferritic grades .
This "stabilized" chemistry delivers exceptional resistance to intergranular corrosion, making it highly resistant to "weld decay" and ensuring the integrity of welded structures without the need for post-weld heat treatment . With corrosion resistance comparable to Type 304 in many environments, combined with favorable physical properties like high thermal conductivity and low thermal expansion, it offers a cost-effective, nickel-free alternative for demanding applications . Its excellent weldability, formability, and surface finish have made it the preferred material for high-quality architectural and automotive components, steadily replacing 304 in these areas .
