Product Introduction
316Ti Stainless Steel Plate is a titanium-stabilized austenitic stainless steel engineered for enhanced performance in specific demanding environments. Based on the standard 316 composition, the intentional addition of Titanium (Ti) provides superior resistance to intergranular corrosion (also known as "sensitization" or "weld decay") that can occur during high-temperature service (425-850°C) or after welding.
While 316L relies on ultra-low carbon to prevent this issue, 316Ti takes a different approach. The titanium acts as a stabilizer by preferentially combining with carbon to form titanium carbides, preventing the chromium in the steel from depleting at the grain boundaries. This makes 316Ti a premier choice for heavy welded fabrications, components subjected to high intermittent temperatures, and applications involving specific corrosive acids where post-weld heat treatment is impractical or impossible
