Product Introduction
301 Stainless Steel Plate is an austenitic chromium-nickel stainless steel, engineered for one primary purpose: to achieve exceptionally high strength through cold working. Often described as a low-nickel variant of 304, its key feature is an extraordinarily high work-hardening rate — among the highest of all standard austenitic grades.
This property allows it to develop a wide range of strength levels, from annealed softness to "full hard" temper, making it the premier material for applications demanding a combination of high strength, good ductility, and moderate corrosion resistance in a lightweight package. It is non-magnetic in the annealed state but becomes strongly magnetic with cold deformation. Its most common forms are strip, sheet, and wire, extensively used in transportation and structural applications where "springiness" and high strength-to-weight ratio are critical.
