Product Introduction

321 Stainless Steel Bar is a titanium-stabilized austenitic stainless steel specifically designed for superior performance in high-temperature applications and welded components. By adding titanium (typically at least 5 times the carbon content), this grade effectively prevents chromium carbide precipitation in the sensitization temperature range of 425-850°C, providing exceptional resistance to intergranular corrosion while maintaining excellent mechanical properties at elevated temperatures. This makes 321 the preferred choice for bar stock applications exposed to continuous high-temperature service where standard 304/304L grades would degrade due to sensitization.

Available in rounds, squares, flats, hexagons, and special shapes, 321 stainless steel bar offers a unique combination of high-temperature strength, oxidation resistance, and fabricability. The titanium stabilization chemically "ties up" carbon atoms, forming stable titanium carbides instead of chromium carbides, thereby preserving the corrosion resistance of the chromium content. This grade excels in intermittent high-temperature applications, offering excellent resistance to oxidation and maintaining structural integrity during thermal cycling, making it ideal for aerospace components, automotive exhaust parts, heat treatment fixtures, and mechanical components
