Nickel-Copper Alloy (Solid-Solution Strengthened) Coil/Strip

The coiled form of the classic seawater and hydrofluoric acid-resistant alloy.

Common Forms & Tempers

Forms: Cold Rolled Coil (Strip), Annealed Pickled Coil.
Temper: Annealed (Soft) for maximum formability; Hard, Half-Hard, Spring Temper for applications requiring high strength, such as springs and fasteners.

Temper selection is versatile, allowing the coil to be tailored for deep drawing or high-strength applications.

The high nickel-copper ratio is the source of its unique corrosion resistance in seawater and reducing environments.

Offers good ductility in annealed temper and excellent spring properties and fatigue resistance in hard tempers.

Key Corrosion Resistance Attributes

• Excellent resistance to seawater and fast-flowing brackish water, resisting cavitation erosion and biofouling.
• Excellent resistance to hydrofluoric acid (HF) at all concentrations and temperatures, especially in the absence of air.

• Good resistance to sulfuric (H₂SO₄) and hydrochloric (HCl) acids under reducing conditions.

• Good resistance to alkalis, salts, and organic acids.

•  Poor resistance to oxidizing acids (e.g., nitric acid, HNO₃) and aerated solutions with oxidants.

A specialist alloy for marine and specific acid services, particularly seawater and hydrofluoric acid handling.
