The 316 stainless steel coil is in the form of a rolled sheet of 316 stainless steel. By adding 2-3% of molybdenum (Mo), its ability to resist chloride ion corrosion (such as in seawater and salt spray) is significantly superior to that of 304 stainless steel coil. It is a commonly used material suitable for more demanding corrosive environments.

Product Introduction

316 Stainless Steel Coil is a superior austenitic stainless steel grade distinguished by its addition of 2-3% molybdenum. This strategic alloying element significantly enhances corrosion resistance, particularly against chlorides and acidic environments, making it the preferred choice for demanding applications where standard 304 stainless steel may be insufficient. Often referred to as "marine-grade stainless," 316 offers exceptional performance in harsh, corrosive conditions while maintaining excellent formability and weldability.

Supplied in continuous coil form for manufacturing efficiency, 316 stainless steel combines enhanced durability with processing versatility. The molybdenum addition improves pitting and crevice corrosion resistance while increasing high-temperature strength. These properties make 316 coil ideal for applications exposed to seawater, chemical processing environments, and other aggressive media where maximum material longevity is essential.
