Corrosion Resistance

Temperature Limits

Continuous Service: Up to 870°C
Intermittent Service: Up to 925°C
Cryogenic Service: Excellent down to -196°C

Maintains corrosion resistance better than 304 at elevated temperatures.

Welding Characteristics

Good weldability with all standard methods
Post-Weld Annealing recommended for maximum corrosion resistance
Low Heat Input preferred to preserve properties

Sensitization can occur in HAZ; 316L preferred for extensive welding.
